Spring Into Health!
Spring is here (even though the weather is fooling with us)! As
we shed
our heavy winter clothing and transition to lighter clothing we can
begin our Spring cleansing. In this time of renewal and rebirth,
consider your goals for health and well-being for the upcoming brighter
months. The time is perfect to begin your summer shape-up with
increased activities and improving your diet so you can look and feel
your best!
Nutritional
strategies to address every part of you:
- Whole
Body Health—After
being indoors, sedentary, and having heavy winter foods, a
detoxification diet can cleanse your system of unwanted toxins and
reduce accumulated stress on the body. Doing so may improve your
mental clarity, increase energy, clear your skin and resolve digestive
issues.
- Immune
System—Have
you been susceptible to colds and flu this season? This can
signify an unbalanced diet along with a high stress lifestyle.
Stress and illness can deplete the body of so many essential
nutrients. Most likely your current diet cannot provide the
proper nutrient levels to support the demands of your immune system and
lifestyle. By balancing the diet and increasing healing nutrients
your body will be able to fight off infections and better manage
stress. Important nutrients: carotenoids, B-vitamins, vitamin C,
vitamin E and zinc.
- Skin
Health—Essential
fats and B-vitamin deficiencies can affect the health of your
skin. If you are prone to dry skin and skin rashes your diet may
be lacking in essential fats. Too often dietary fats are cut to
reduce calories. Whereas, a diet with healthy fats can both
manage weight and promote healthy skin. While B-vitamin
deficiencies can affect the appearance of skin and its ability to heal
properly. Even certain medications can deplete B-vitamins.
Have your diet, supplements and drug-nutrient interactions assessed to
improve the health of the your skin. When you look better you
feel better.

are only a few areas in
